I like Laura’s ironic comment “Umbrellas are for sissies – inconvenient to carry, blow inside out and poke passers by. Beautiful to look at though but “I love the rain – it washes memories off the sidewalk of life.” (Woody Allen)” – more at http://naomibaltuck.wordpress.com/2013/10/01/bumbershots/#comments

your continuing perfect (and so always fearless) night photography allows us to share the Pittsburgh evening culture events – and I like your lyrical descriptions, for example: “…We could hear the roar of the crowd- 6-2 over Cincinnati tonight. It was an energetic and enthusiastic crowd…”

Thank you! I love your rainy shots–perfect for the coming season. It is raining hard in Seattle at this moment, and will probably be all week! We must splash on!

Oh, yes, and I live in Edmonds, just north of Seattle, which is a convergence zone! Thank you for the link to Rainy Day People. I just listened to it, and it had a very calming effect on me. I grew up listening to Gordon Lightfoot. Some of his work is outdated–chauvinistic, but some of his songs are timeless, poetry set to music, and I will never tire of it.

If rainy days are not the easiest to take pictures, they are interesting for lights, reflection, mirror effect, … So, a good umbrella, a tropicalized camera, and let’s go 😉
