she writes for example about the topic “REDUCE”:

We don’t need all the things that we fill our homes with, we merely want them. I require so much less than I used to believe, but things are difficult to let go of. Someone has gifted them, we liked them years ago, they are a part of our visual landscape, we have always had them – those are all excuses I have used myself in clutching on to possessions. I need to cultivate a ruthless attitude and only keep what I need. My first job is determining what I can do without.

In unseren Wohnungen sammelt sich im Laufe eines Lebens eine verfluchte Menge von Dingen an. Nun bin ich über 65 Jahre alt, habe das Berufsleben hinter mir, die Kinder sind aus dem Haus, das Altersheim ist eventuell vor mir: Was werde ich als wichtig behalten, was kann ich jetzt schon mal entsorgen, um damit nicht auch noch meine Nachfahren zu beschweren? Und es geht ja nicht nur um Objekte für die Mülltonne oder gar Müllkippe. Es geht auch um die vielen überflüssigen Gedächtnis-Fragmente im Kopf, die entsorgt werden müssten. Wie? Durch Abstraktion. Durch Befreiung aus der Nacherzählung. Durch Gruppenbildung. Für mich relevant: Musik, Fotografie, Philosophie – und je mehr ich darüber nachdenke auch: Politik. Politische Kunst, Justiz und Politik, Journalismus und Politik, Politische Talkshows. Eine Form der gescheiten Bündelung eines Lebens in Extrakte, wichtige Basis-Elemente: meine Aphorismen-Sammlung. Oder, aktuell: mein WordPress-Blog. Vielleicht stehen einige Leser und private Freunde mir sympathisierend bei dieser Sisyphus-Arbeit bei, damit ich zu einem interessanten, zusammenfassenden und weiterreichbaren Ergebnis gelange. Bevor ich meine Augen für immer schließen muss. Before I have to close my eyes for ever.
