On the one hand we have the sailors and truck drivers, pilots or postal workers, on the other hand we have the rich citizens with their golden “Lion’s Gates” waiting for some delivery.
David Klein is my favorite naive painter and I’m trying to feature his work also in my museum series:
David Klein comments: “Story behind the painting is boy was coming from school and saw his pet horse out in the field.”
David commented himself, when I asked him:
“The library was a story in the Shepherd express newspaper. About a librarian who held a party at the library. The idea was to generate interest in books at the library. You would come to the party dressed as your favorite character in a book. The people will try to guess the name of the book and the character in the book. We tried to give them clues and see how long it took for them to guess who you are.”
