Our cat Emily is a TV-maniac. She watches all the games, but is unable to remember the results after a few days. Comments by my friends: Akbar Simonse, The Hague, Netherlands: “I remember Frans De Munck a famous dutch goalkeeper from the fifties, his nickname was The Black Panther…” + Dirigentens = Mikael Tigerström, Gothenburg, Sweden: “Is she betting on the result?” + bumbascalling = Stephen in San Francisco: “Can she cat-ch the ball?”

The word “cat” often used as nickname in sports… 🙂
Cleveland “Big Cat” Williams (1933-99) was an american heavyweight boxer, often called the best ever never get a title.
Bruce “The Mouse” Strauss (born 1962) was an american middleweight boxer, most known for all his lost fight (77 wins, 53 losses and 5 draws).
I didn’t think these 2 boxer ever met… ‘hahahaha’.

Scrolling down the reader my eye caught your photo before the accompanying text header – my first thought was that a fast moving ball was headed straight for kitty – didn’t anyone see it? Of course, now that I’ve read your post I’ve gotten a good laugh … plus upon closer inspection it looks as though the goalie was doing his job…

Emily’s favorite sport?
1
high speed following of mice running through our garden …
2
secondly: high jumping to catch dragonflies!
3
high climbing to reach a nest of magpies. the problem of the last sport is: she does not know how to come back from the top of a tree – so we several times needed a very long ladder …

Perhaps my neighbors cat can give your cat some lessons on getting down. He is quite an acrobat. I find that cat all over – walking on top of our roof; or sitting on the railing on our second floor deck eyeing the birds at the feeders (if you are outside, you can only get there from the roof or climbing a very tall post). He even walks with perfect balance along a thin ledge of bricks on the side of our house. He has no trouble finding his way down.

TOO FUNNY!! My black cat dee dee loves John Wayne as soon as I turn it on he hears his voice, he runs and watches it. If I turn the channel he gets down and begs to turn it on. No joke.
