Micro cosmos vs. hierarchy

I’m very impressed by this photo composition of Michael D. Hawley, Vancouver, – the over-sized intimidating architecture vs. the tiny couple supporting each other with a safe micro-cosmos! Sometimes it seems, that architects want to make us feeling small and weak – or that the boss of a big company, even a railroad boss, wants to make us shy and wordless – with a boasting entrance hall. The photographer Michael Hawley soothes us by featuring this couple in a sudden sunbeam, close to another, forgetting all oppressing hierarchy.

P.S.:
my daughter is an architect (in Berlin) and we often discussed which size of architecture is comfortable for the human feeling and which not. We have a lot of bad examples in Berlin …
