Keith Richards as grandfather

Because I play guitar for over 50 years (visit Soundcloud, fingerstyle_guitar), I wanted to relive, how an icon of my generation makes the jump to the grandfather-identity. (Just I taught to my 5 year old grandson: “One, two, three, four, can I have a little more …” by the BEATLES.) Keith Richards tells, with whom he has seen the first guitar (namely at grandpa Gus: in a house full of guitars and cake) or which piece he could play first (Malaguena). As one ponders itself immediately: which was the most inspiring apartment in his own childhood, where was the first music shop you walked in, what songs could you re-enact first – and how to manage it, to describe to the grandchildren the atmosphere of our own generation, making a previous generation comprehensible, an attitude attractive to do, which is often no longer shared by the currently prevailing parents generation. In this respect I have found much useful suggestions for Grandpa stories by this small, by Keith’s daughter charmingly illustrated little book – a version with CD is also available!

Da ich seit über 50 Jahren Gitarre spiele (siehe SoundCloud, fingerstyle_guitar), wollte ich unbedingt nacherleben, wie eine Ikone meiner Generation den Sprung in die Großvater-Identität schafft. (Grade ich meinem 5-jährigen Enkel beigebracht: “One, two, thre, four, can I have a little more…” von den BEATLES.) Keith Richards erzählt, bei wem er die erste Gitarre gesehen hat (nämlich bei Opa Gus: in einem Haus voller Gitarren und Kuchen) oder welches Stück er zuerst spielen konnte (Malaguena). Da grübelt man sofort selbst, welches die inspirierendste Wohnung in der eigenen Kindheit war, wo das erste Musik-Geschäft war, das man betrat, welche Songs man zuerst nachspielen konnte – und wie man es schaffen könnte, seinen Enkeln die Atmosphäre der eigenen, zu Ende gehenden Generation verstehbar zu machen, eine Geisteshaltung anziehend zu mache, die oft von der aktuell herrschenden Eltern-Generation gar nicht mehr geteilt wird. Insofern habe ich durch diese kleine, charmant von Keiths Tochter illustrierte Rückbesinnung sehr viel brauchbare Anregungen für Großvater-Erzählungen gefunden!
