For Ferlinghetti

When we visited New York I had poems of the author Lawrence Ferlinghetti in my pocket, describing days in Manhattan, today I tried to sing some of his lines in a blues session:

  1. Fantastic Frizz and it certainly covers so many NYC bases, so much feeling in the words and music. One of my first parades here was Columbus Day with the garbage trucks, full of waving families, taking pride of place. After that it was St Patrick’s in the snow.

BTW, have you ever been to City Lights in San Francisco? Still there and still good!

  4. I like the line – I’ve heard a trombone preach – a true musician says that about what he wants his instrument to do. Love you music and singing. Fantastic …!!!!
