Last week we had the “E words”-challenge, so this week we’ll create a new turn with “F” – I’m sure you’ll also find a photo, a story or a music title tagged with “F”! Feel free to add in the comments below the link to your personal interpretation of the letter “F”!!! Myself I’ll focus on the four letter word “FULL”:

Here’s mine, quite delectable with FOOD from Tim Ho Wan in Singapore.

    • hi Prof. Myra, I’m happy that my wife mostly likes to cook (we got new WOK in the kitchen) at home with and for our friends, so I don’t suffer in “overly-long queues …(with) around 30-40 minutes waiting time on a week day…”

  8. What a tremendous photo choice for F. The ducks even look happy (so far). Here is my triple F: http://travelwithintent.com/2014/08/12/f-is-for-flaking-faded-venice/

    • at first I smiled about the ducks photo, flash back to school class journeys, all happy. I a second step, diving deeper, I read, that the feet of the geese are tied together, so they can not escape. I suppose, they are not on their way to a festival. Maybe it’s definitely their last trip ever…

    • Dear Frizz … I wanted to apologize if in using this tragedy about Robin Williams as my challenge post is offensive in any way. A blogger left a comment on my post that I misused the challenge by doing this. It was never my intentions to misuse the challenge. I thought it was pertinent information. Can you tell me what your opinion is on this? Thank you,
      Isadora

      • dear Isadora, you = “raised by a mother who had severe depression and was plagued with paranoid schizophrenia” and me (my mother made suicide too, so I understood, that depression is a severe danger) – we know what we are talking about. “F” for FINAL DAY should be more often a topic of writing. Many years I put my focus on suicide, trying to understand the structure of the process – and searching for techniques to change a depressive state of mind. At first I read with interest American psychiatrists’ books with focus on behaviorism. Much more efficient was, what I read in my psychoanalytic library: from Freud via Adler to Karen Horney or Otto F. Kernberg. I wrote many essays about famous people who made suicide. Nevertheless the public is shocked, if it happens again. No restriction on this topic, not any kind of censorship: we only have the chance to learn, if we are free to talk and write about things inside a mind! In Germany the people learned a lot, when the widow of a famous soccer star (who made suicide) went to many TV-talk-shows to break the silence! P.S.: the stats of my more than 2,000 wordpress posts daily present as my most read article the one about “suicide by charcoal grill” – I hope, the users of my site intern search machine find people to talk with, before they act in panic…

  19. Of course, your picture is shocking for me…. And I saw this many times in Vietnam. But in Europe, it’s also very shocking to see other animals put in trucks for hundred of kilometers in a small space under the sun to go into slaughterhouses without controls….
And those ducks had more space to live before thant many of “our” chickens.

    • Falls in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil: I suppose there was a wonderful fresh and an overwhelming sound?

      Like

      • Oh yes, Frizz. An amazing sound and also a pleasant water sprinkle. The falls are so powerful that the mist you can see in the photo is in fact water flowing around. Another amazing view was that numerous birds, I guess hundreds, were permanently flying above the falls, and what was even more surprising about those birds is that they have their nests at the walls located behind the water fall, so hundreds of birds were flying through the falls continually. It was a fantastique spectacle.
        Kind greetings,
        Marianne
