Event Type: General Blogging

Start Date: Tuesdays, recurring weekly

Description: Every Tuesday I offer the “A to Z challenge”, walking step by step through the alphabet.
+
Last week we had the “tagged D”-challenge, so this week we’ll create a new turn with “E” – I’m sure you’ll also find a photo, a story or a music title tagged with “E”! Eggs, ears, eyes, elephants, emergency, electricity, England Ethiopia, evolve or explain: Feel free to add in the comments below the link to your personal interpretation of the letter “E”!!! Myself I’ll focus on “Eyes”:

    • Einstein:
Theory is when we know everything but nothing works. Praxis is when everything works but we do not know why. We always end up by combining theory with praxis: nothing works and we do not know why.

    • hola Marianne,
      you made me smile with
      “life is a pendulum
      that also tends toward dis-Equilibrium,
      so balance sometimes fades away…”
P.S.: yes, I know, but it soothes,
not to be alone in the pendulum…

    • hi mesmerizing Lynne: your forlorn ENTER sign in Ontario on the abandoned factory wall struck my heart – more than any proud mountain landscape in the Switzerland – maybe because my childhood environment was like the one in Ontario – I lived near a slaughterhouse where cows and calves, sheep and lambs cried all day. I heard they eat cheese and chocolate in Switzerland.

    • EMBODY THE MOODS: hi Fat, thanks for the interesting quotation: “…We depend on our surroundings obliquely to embody the moods and ideas we respect and then to remind us of them. We look to our buildings to hold us, like a kind of psychological mould, to a helpful vision of ourselves…”
      P.S.:
I had years, when I stared at the house of my childhood years, sitting on a sofa of a Cafe just on the other side of the street. My parents were dead, other people lived in the house, the bridge to the past seemed to be broken. But the stories in my head became the bridge when I put my focus on this house and its windows…

    • thank you for your wonderful tribute poem to the swallows:
      ~
“Each summer morning my eyes delight in the vision
Of spiraling swallows in flight, envious of their enthusiasm,
They fly from dawn to eventide, swooping ever ably
Avoiding collisions evoking exclamations of awe …”
      P.S.:
      coincidence:
I just played guitar featuring a song with lyrics using swallows for a metaphorical message:

      Donna Donna – Protest Song
