C words

Every Tuesday, step by step, since 2011, I’m walking with my readers from A to Z, last week we had the letter “B”, so this week we’ll make with “C” – I’m sure you’ll also find a story or a music title tagged with “C”! Feel free to add in the comments below the link to your personal interpretation of the letter “C”!!! Myself I’ll focus on CARIBOU:

    • hi A., congratulations for your courage to explore the Caucasus – coming back with such a nice story and photos of a little boy forgetting his toy weapons, cuddling a lamb – yes, these two sides are in us…

  5. The caribou and the truck is both a striking and surprising juxtaposition, Frizz. My ‘C’ is rather more contemplative: ‘Charles Darwin, Holy Bones and Wild Orchids’ http://wp.me/pKVAM-Pj

    • my good old hero CHARLES Darwin (I’m an atheist). I like your resume: “Just as his book On the Origin Species shook the foundations of Christian orthodoxy, so these ruins mark England’s break from the Church in Rome and a complete shake-up in religious belief that rebounded down the centuries… Even his wife was concerned about the state of his soul…” Oh my poor Catholic wife Barbara! P.S.: I also like Churchill’s aphorisms or the books of Canetti, Cioran or Camus…

      • Lots of good ‘C’s here, Frizz. Interesting I read that Charles Darwin could not quite in the end claim to be an atheist, but admitted to agnosticism. I think like Laura, he was rather conflicted.

    • if I were forced to choose between Carpenters and Churchill – I believe my choice would be Churchill:

or should I play on my guitar this:
Carpenters – Top Of The World (Live at the White House)
      – and they are opening with GUTEN ABEND – that’s German, why?

    • happy, to read: “Look at how a single candle can both defy and define the darkness.” ― Anne Frank = Anne Frank is a great hero symbol for resistance vs. the Third Reich. As for candles: you make me remember the fate of princess Diana / Marilyn Monroe:
