Cheri from “Daily Post” writes: “Our photographs tell stories, big and small. Some of our images are landscapes, offering wide and sweeping views of a scene; these pictures might tell the tales of an entire city, or a tapestry of stories of many people. Some photographs, like portraits, focus on individuals, while still-life moments capture the beauty (and often treasured stories) of belongings and found objects.β
Maybe we could write about the changing of the idols in different decades of our lifetime? Urania di Arrakis at Flickr.com asked: “ma quello in mezzo si mangia?” Google translates: “but what you eat in the middle?” My answer: #2 = in the middle: my father was a baker, so this gingerbread called “Stutenkerl” reminds me of him! / #3 = founder of Dubrovnik / #1 = I studied at first theology (then social sciences etc.)

The changing of idols
What is the meaning of the bust for you Frizz? I cannot say that I know who he is.

#3? – We made our honeymoon trip to Dubrovnik. There we bought the replica of the bust of the sailor Michele Prazatto, indicated as “Michaeli Prazatto Benemerito civi ex SC MDCXXXVIII,” now known in Croatia as Miha Pracat. Everyday when we say “Good Morning” to the statue we smile and feel the continuing sun of Dubrovnik in our hearts. The music of the city. The snorkeling in the sea. The old stones of the pathway. Signore Prazatto (about 1638) explored the world with his sailships, a longing which is in all of us … (nowadays we use the internet, it’s cheaper and faster)

my grandchild, aged 4, wanted to eat him, but in the very last moment I could stop him. I told him, that he had nearly eaten my father, so he smiled – and went with me to the next bakery to buy a Donut.
