With the audacity freeware I made a multitrack version of WILL THE CIRCLE BE UNBROKEN: I learned how to unbreak my simple guitar tracks adding banjo, kazoo and some lyrics – not perfect, I admit, but I’m happy that I learned to use audacity (for free) better than to buy an expensive multitrack recording hardware

You’re right, Audacity is pretty simple to use and it’s easy to make multitrack tunes with some simple effects.
