Cat Analysis

It appears on the photo portrait below, that my cat Emily Dickinson is a discerning cat. But she is only 10% a demanding cat (demanding salmon and ham and tuna) – but 40% of it is very kind to me, especially when crawling on my belly and purr when I can not sleep. 40% she sleeps for themselves – and for 10% it kills mice, the whole dark night without any regret.
Strike Cat =^..^=
In this very moment my wise cat Emily blocks me as usual to read the daily local newspaper, because she has the opinion, the news make me angry always…

  1. A cat portrait well worth seeing twice. I find it hard to picture her on a mouse hunt. Are you sure she doesn’t go and visit some other house at these times, so other humans can admire her gorgeous face and paws. Or does she bring you the evidence?

    • if we do not close all our windows and doors at night, she comes into our bedroom, eating the mice resting on my belly. Tish, you are living in Africa, I’ve heard there are some lions and crocodiles with such a bad behaviour too: killing other innocent animals. Maybe she thinks, she is a lion and has a licence to kill? Till now, she ignored all my sermons on morality, Immanuel Kant, the peace movement etc. – maybe I should sell her to Syria.

      • The cat who thinks she’s a lion – love it. Let’s hope she sticks to mice if she means to share them with you. By the way, I’m not in Africa now. Wish I was. But Shropshire, UK is my home now and, though lovely, it is definitely lacking in lions.

        • and lacking in elephants, crocodiles, snakes – I hope you feel well nevertheless – at least with your wonderful garden!

          • One of the things I like about my garden and my allotment is that their soil is the weathered remains of an uplifted sea bed – the tropical Silurian Sea of 400 million years ago. Around this time, Shropshire, England etc was lying somewhere towards the Comoros Islands off East Africa. So in some ways I’m still in Africa. Also our house is built from Silurian limestone which is full of tropical sea creatures and corals. Thinking about this reminds me how marvellous our planet is and, despite all ills, how very lucky we are to be here. I think that is your philosophy too. And clearly Emily’s. She’s knows the good life when she sees it.

  10. Yes, she looks like a very discerning and wise cat indeed! She also seems to be insisting that she is the boss.
But it sounds like your Emily is also a wonderful companion.
