There are so many languages, such as birds in this picture. I just discovered that translate.google delivers more and more languages. Maybe we should use this more often?

I know, the “google translate” machine produces many mistakes. Maybe you like to find some mistakes below or you add your own language:

Google Translate is always really funny. I often use it for English or French or Italian. But it’s better to know the grammatic beyond 🙂

The Hebrew came out okay this time, but I have found that the translations are sometimes dangerous, in that they give the wrong message. Don’t know whether it is a blessing or a curse. In any case, have you translated this picture to music yet?

there’s a strong bass rhythm in the birds’ note line… and the airplane: that’s a clarinet’s take off, isn’t it?

Google Translate, especially for my own language is not good… There is always mistake… and also makes the meaning far from its origin…

Indeed lots of fun to translate a language that you understand as well and sometimes it’s really funny. I translated your paragraph :
There are so many languages, such as birds in this picture. I just discovered that translate.google delivers more and more languages. Maybe we should use this more often?
to Afrikaans and this was the result :
Daar is so baie tale, soos voëls in die prentjie. Ek het net ontdek dat translate.google lewer meer en meer tale. Miskien moet ons dit gebruik om meer gereeld nie?
But it really sounds better this way : LOL!

Thanks for a lovely and interactive post Frizz. I truly enjoyed. 🙂

Jeg ved, at “Google Oversæt” maskine producerer mange fejl. Måske du gerne finde nogle fejl nedenfor, eller du tilføje dit eget sprog: Google ER blevet bedre siden jeg først opdagede at det kunne bruges til at oversætte, siden 2006

I use google translate but only for basic translations. It reminds me of the game telephone we used to play as kids. One would whisper to another and it continued until the end and it was always funny to hear how on simple message became so garbled.

A couple of years ago a German cousin of mine wrote a book dealing with depression that was well received in the German press. As a result he did interviews with several newspapers. Needless to say he’s always had a way with words, and I loved reading his responses to various questions. Thankfully, my German is good enough to where I didn’t need to use Google Translate, but for giggles, I decided to compare my interpretation of the interview with Translate’s results. I laughed harder on that day that I had in a long time. My cousin’s surname is Schlösser, which Translate decided in the same interview with the Hamburger Abendblatt to translate into both “Mr. Castle” and “Mr. Locks.” There were other examples showing off Google’s lack-of-nuance slip, but for the most part you did get the point. That said, if I based first impressions of my cousin on the translation alone, I’d have a hard time taking what he had to say very seriously.

I sometimes use the translate.google but when I do it I always have to make modifications on what it says, because it makes the translations word by word, and that doesn’t work in a living language.
