ITALIAN
I’m lucky to have many grandsons. Some of them are half German, half Italian, because one of my daughters married an Italian. So we spent many weeks for example in Venice, where she studied and had her wedding. Lazy, laid back, no car traffic, just some water taxis, many restaurants etc.: Venice is a city for looking back, write down some results, read. I liked to feel my German self like a native Italian, when tourists asked me which way they should go to find the central station …

Hi Frizz! I’ve always wanted to visit Italy – I have a feeling that the laid back, effusive, warm, and romantic vibe would appeal to me greatly. I love this photograph as well. I have a weakness for monochrome photos.

When I was younger, I always wished I were Italian. My childhood friend was and her family was so interesting and fun and the meals! MMMM.
Although I have been to visit Italy twice, I need to go for a longer time and travel all around. I like your “I”

This is indeed a beautiful, and very relaxed photograph. Together, the use of monochrome, and the fact that the gentleman is reading the newspaper and not an electronic book, makes the scene a bit nostalgic…
