I was amused, when I found the website www.typealyzer.com – you have to type in your blog URL and then the typealyzer will tell you who you are – like a modern SPHINX. About me the digital Sphinx wrote: “The author of flickrcomments is of the type ISTP = The independent and problem-solving type. They are especially attuned to the demands of the moment and are highly skilled at seeing and fixing what needs to be fixed, making them ideally suited for engineering…” etc. then the Sphinx compared me with “Donald Rumsfeld, Michael Jordan, Steve Jobs, Woody Allen, Clint Eastwood, Scarlett Johansson, Kyudo Nakagawa, Bruce Lee, Snoop Dogg, Ellen Page, Erwin Rommel, James Bond and Boba Fett…” My comment: NO! below: me with no words, guitar talking only:

I came out ESFP and read the description, only 50% true. I know I was an ESFJ the last time I took the test 😉 about 8 years ago. I was an ISFJ about 5 years before that. Thanks for this, I had fun! 🙂

This was a delightful post….I visited the type analyser and came up as a mechanic too!! Not really how I see myself…so then I typed in a few other blogs I follow and every one of them came back as mechanics!! Even stranger as they are a mix of poets, artists, food bloggers and therapists 🙂

I’ve never been much tempted to ask others what sort of a man I am… I figured that was one of the few things I had to find out for myself… especially if they read it in the stars, or figure it out by way of my birth date… as for stereotypes… they can be misleading… but sometimes they are connected to a valid impression made by a group of people. For anyone who resents the stereotype of their countrymen, I suggest that they ask themselves first, am I really typical of the folks who live around me? I once read a very interesting article on how cartoonists work, and that the way we judge and remember others is very similar to their work. I love listening to your music, and have a very warm spot for John Hurt.

First of all, Thank you for the John Hurt song; much appreciated. Secondly, it could be that there is a marked difference between Israelis and New York Jews. But still, those New York Jews are doing just what I would expect from them. You see, we are famous for being iconoclasts, ever since our father Abraham, a few thousand years ago. And since Wagner is reviled here in Israel… it is almost stereotypical for NY Jews to listen to him with great fanfare.

Having spent most of my adult life in New York, I don’t think your friends are especially typical. I was first introduced to jazz by a kid from New York who I’m pretty sure was Jewish. I can still remember the first record he played for me was Charlie Parker. I could probably think of tons of other examples but I’m not always aware of who’s Jewish and who isn’t.
In fact, the connection between African-American musical styles and Jewish musicians and composers is, or so I thought, considered a major part of the development of twentieth century American music.

Coming up ESFP all over – and here also only about 50% true as I don’t “avoid conflicts and rarely (most often usually) initiate confrontation” – not an “excellent team player”: in fact, I wanted to have a t-shirt made that said “does not play well with others” at one point… Myers Briggs had given me a completely different result! but secondly, on the other hand, the title “you are what you you write” means: a writer’s identity is never fixed, he develops new horizons weekly – that’s the great challenge of blogging: to create, to expand one’s own identity … – you will be, what you will write tomorrow …
