Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany. She certainly organizes some things correct. But others very much embarrassing wrong. Most intolerable is the almost talking doll-like repetitive acting, always the same cunning statements. Everything in unnatural, rehearsed stiff gestures. A boss facade. No longer able to authentic communication.

German version:
Angela Merkel, Bundeskanzlerin, Deutschland. Sie macht sicherlich manches richtig. Sehr vieles allerdings auch peinlich falsch. Am unerträglichsten ist die fast “sprechpuppenartige” (Urban Priol) wiederholende Wiedergabe immer derselben abgefeimten Statements. Alles in unnatürlicher, einstudierter steifer Gestik. Ein Fassadenmensch. Nicht mehr zur authentischen Kommunikation fähig.
P.S.:
Peinlich auch ihre Personal-Politik. Von Herrn Nicht-Doktor von und zu Guttenberg bis über den nicht-geldabweisend agierenden Bundespräsidenten Wulff bis hin (heute) zur Nicht-Doktorin Schavan …

Willy Brandt was great – I saw him as a teenager in Berlin 1963 – together with John F. Kennedy and Adenauer … – adorable: his “Kniefall” in Poland.
P.S.:
actually his son Matthias Brandt gives us joy as an excellent actor in TV movies!

If that doll is like one of those traditional Ukrainian dolls, then there’s another doll inside, then another doll inside that one. And all of them false.

hi Bumba / Steve, you are talking about Russian Dolls – I’ve written also about them at https://flickrcomments.wordpress.com/2011/04/27/russian-dolls/ as a metaphor for family roots (or multiple personality disorder) – but these roly-poly toys – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roly-poly_toy – have inside a metal weight – to let them stand up again whatever had thrown them down before – a symbol of “you can’t get me down…”

Read your post. Maryoshka dolls. I thought they were painted identically small to big. Not necessarily. With the weight, they really are like politicians, always controlled to present the same false personnae. I know I’m being harsh on politicians. There must be a good one, a real one, here and there. It’s just he or she is hard to find sometimes.

Ist schon traurig, wenn man sich den ganzen Spaß einmal ansieht. Ich hoffe aber immer, dass die Gesellschaft vielleicht etwas draus lernt. Bleibt nur zu Hoffen …

Even if politicians are decent, forthright humans when they take office, something overtakes their sense of reality and they get full of themselves and don’t act naturally or normally. I had a roly-poly doll as a kid and it had a chime in it so when you knocked it down it made a funny chimey sound.
