lyrics by Salomon, 1939 (see below in the comments):
“In the jungle, the mighty jungle
The lion sleeps tonight
In the jungle, the mighty jungle
The lion sleeps tonight
Hush, my darling, don’t fear, my darling
The lion sleeps tonight
Hush, my darling, don’t fear, my darling
The lion sleeps tonight”
“Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle: When the sun comes up, you’d better be running.” [Anon] – quotation, found via Elizabeth Obih-Frank, read more at https://flickrcomments.wordpress.com/2012/04/22/african-wisdom/

I love that song myself…:-)
I love the way the zebra are lying in a “wheel” shape…must be so they can be watching all angles…

yes, they are looking into three different directions – so the group is safe – a security standard: that is even our cat’s behaviour and goal, if we make a “tea for two”: she joins the group building that kind of triangle (“wheel shape” as you say)

I LOVE this song! I like your rendition. It is unique and skillfully done.
It’s funny, ever since Disney’s Lion King came out, the vision of Pumbaa and Timon singing the song pops into my head every time I hear it.
Great photos!
