To think that she and the others who died were all running for their lives. We take our freedom so much for granted.

Wow; I get so little news aside from the top headlines; How in-congruent that such a vivid and colorful boat would be responsible for such tragic news. 😦

yes, Lisa Brunetti in Ecuador, pleased to know, that you are following the rules of Thoreau: the boats are wonderful artworks: often destroyed by high tech police and military boats … – I’m sure, Thoreau would feel anger, not only civil disobedience …

how sad that those beautiful boats are often destroyed. tenfold sad if people are aboard when they’re destroyed. there is so much hatred and anger that spans all countries and cultures; we’ve not evolved very much as a species, have we.
back to the boats; it’s like destroying a soul, but then all war seems to be about destroying souls.
the colorful boats reflect the true spirit of those people, and along comes a bully and takes that away from them.
thanks for your reply. Z

there’s an African immigrants’ boat cemetery in Lampedusa (Italian island) – with hundreds of colorful destroyed boats … if those boats could tell their stories – but there is silence on the boat cemetery on Lampedusa

But of course! One of my dreams is to find an old boat ready to be put to pasture and break it down into manageable sections, transport it to a quiet stream with big trees and put the ark in the treetops and convert it into a studio!
