Weekly Photo Challenge: CLOSE – if friends feel very close, they share a lock-ritual: friendship metaphors seen in Cologne, Deutz Bridge, Rhine River, near the Cathedral: they throw the key of the lock into the deep river to be fixed together till eternity and no one will be able to unlock them again – not even a good diver …

Wow, that’s great! I was recently in Francavilla Al Mare on the Adriatic, and at the end of the town pier there are locks all over the railings. Someone said it was a public display of love for another. Wondering if this is a common custom through Europe in some way?

I’m very much intrigued by this shot (& series) but I’m not sure I understand … is this a place where people add locks?
2 – Frizztext (reply, a moment ago)
everyone can add there his lock – in Cologne; other cities have the same project…
maybe you can be the first to start this in YOUR hometown?
