Asma al-Assad – Syria First Lady

International Letter & Petition to Asma al-Assad: “Stop being a bystander”

United Nations (CNN) — The wives of the British and German ambassadors to the United Nations have taken on Syria’s first lady in an online video, calling on Asma al-Assad to “stop your husband” and “stop being a bystander.”
Huberta von Voss-Wittig, wife of Germany’s UN Ambassador Peter Wittig, and Sheila Lyall Grant, wife of Britain’s UN Ambassador Mark Lyall Grant, said in a letter accompanying the video that as a woman, wife, mother, champion of women’s equality, and formerly vocal female Arab leader, “she cannot hide behind her husband.”

  1. Somehow I think she will end up like Mussolini’s concubine
She is still shopping on the internet and having a very good time, does she look like somebody that cares?
    No ways!

  2. A Great Idea , hope this video – letter will come to Asma and she has influence on your husband

  3. It’s new to me. Interesting and educational. 🙂

  4. Wonderful to petition Syria’s First Lady to take a stand against bloodshed. As in the case with school bullies, all bystanders are actually accessories to the violence if they do and say nothing to stop the problem.

  5. I truly hope this makes some kind of positive impact on the fate of Syria. Hopefully it has a very positive impact on this wife, and on her husband, not privately, but very publicly! Thanks

Hearing from you makes my day!
