  8. Oh! That does capture the essence of peacefulness. I had thought of hunting down a body of water to photograph today, but anything I come up with will pale in comparison to yours. I will continue my hunt for a symbol of peaceful… 🙂

  17. what a wonderfrul contrast between the white and the blue. have heard so much about this place. didn’t get here on a trip that included Greece about 100 years ago. well, maybe not quite so many years – but before i had a digital camera.

  21. I love the way that many Mediterranean homes are painted in bright colours, predominantly white with blue roofes. I love this church. It all looks very clean, sanctified even. The curves on the roof makes for a wonderful shadow effect.

    Some years ago a work colleague was married at Santorini. It was the first time I have had ever heard of it and thought what a wonderfull place to be. That photo is fabulous especially the texture of the sea… a picture of pure peacefulness

    I love the Santorini photo! I want to go one day soon. In the meantime I find the peace much as I’ve shared the photos in the post – appreciating the creatures around me like the sleeping kitten, the beauty of nature as I sit on my back deck and seeing my husband relaxing while enjoying the Alaskan scenery on our honeymoon.

  46. The light forming shadows on the curves of this structure is so graceful and with that grace, comes the feeling of serenity. This does indeed appear to be a very peaceful place to be.
