The year of 2011 made some landmarks in history. Photography, uploaded to the web, becomes a common memory.

maybe there is something good in many bad situations:
the bride was rescued (6), also the man in the Tsunami (10) –
not Gaddafi (2) – but maybe it is very good, that
the things are changing now there in Libya –
sad for Syria: still nothing has changed there.

for me this year 2011 is the hope giving phenomena
that people – supported by the web – try to resist
selfish administrations in so many countries!

Very powerful images, all of them gruesome on some level, but not necessarily despairing. Some reveal the evil of humanity and nature, but behind that the strength of the human soul and compassion for another’s sorrow.
Great stuff.

A very gripping collection of photos. As far as nature, it often reminds me it must be respected. I am mindful of the power, strength and force of nature (water, wind, snow, ice, fire, earthquakes, etc., etc., etc.)
