the fellow blogger http://radicalamazement.wordpress.com/2011/11/25/weekly-photo-challenge-family/ writes: “I admit it, when it comes to family it does not take much to fire up my inner cynic. When I first saw this week’s photo challenge topic, said inner cynic came roaring to the surface with these words: “Oh, please. Isn’t that rather cliché, right after Thanksgiving?” Sigh. But then I clicked over to the comments to see what people were posting, and the first two photos just melted my heart. Take a look here at Brandon’s photo … And Frizztext always has a photo that inspires – my inner cynic just can’t stand up in the presence of this photo. Wow.”
frizz-reply: thanks “radical amazement” – I feel honored that our photo made your cynic clichés hesitate: sometimes we need cynicism to break free. And sometimes humor helps not to be overwhelmed by romance – as in the famous movie THE FAMILY STONE …

  47. the miss en scene is perfect, the light exquisite, and the emotion resonates, clearly between the three of you…I also like the sheet music in the background (‘sorry seems to be the hardest word’), perhaps there by accident, yet somehow significant…

frizz-comment there: my parents put my teddy bear into the trash container when they moved from Wuppertal (near Cologne) to another town (in the Sauerland); can’t forget him, still after sixty years! he was yellow and his fur coat was shaped from hugging …

    • I was very excited to see your comment about your family and your teddy bear. My husband and I have been on the Wuppertal Schwebebahn — I don’t know if a lot of Americans have! But surely you rode on it, you didn’t leave until you were ten or so.
Your teddy bear sounds like a twin of Winnie the Pooh.
(The woman we know who was a girl in Wuppertal now leaves in Koeln; her older sister when she married moved to —– the Sauerland.) Six degrees of separation!!!!!! (Geographically speaking —)
