yes Jackie, BEN is a great photographer; we’ve been on the same place, the mountain Jenner, Bavaria, but I only took a photo introducing a birds’ gang – but the lonesome “EXISTENTIALISM” bird captured by BEN Visbeek gives us the important feeling WE CAN BE OURSELVES – we must not be the slave of any group …

Lots to contemplate as I head out to start this day. The bird is thinking deeply- and has great presence. Your list of references will have to be explored at another time but are always better than a college course.

this is a beautiful picture… and I believe it is apt to the subject. It radiates the sort of presence that I would choose to illustrate existentialism. But I wonder… with all due respect for your work as a collector, and administrator of your fine group. whether it wouldn’t be more appropriate for you to ‘meet the challenge’, so to speak, with work of your own. I understand that you have published a book, and I have seen some of your own fine photos that you have captured. When I thought of the letter ‘E’, I was hoping to see some of your own work regarding existentialism.

my actual reflection on Existentialism: main part of this philosophy is to focus on courage (and not to get overwhelmed by ANGST). Maybe it is a question of courage for Israel, to follow some wishes of the people of upcoming Palestina: to give them West Jordan Land and parts of Jerusalem demands a lot of courage and trust. I’ve heard about some Israelis who try to respect Palestina: those are good existentialists in my eyes … – what do you think about the chance of those new started negotiations?
