Gypsy Swing: My Passion

Gipsy Swing: Mike Reinhardt, Fapy Lafertin, Tchavolo Schmitt, Stochelo Rosenberg, Yorgui Loeffler, Bireli Lagrene or Angelo Debarre – everytime when I have a chance to visit a life concert, my heart is touched: So yesterday by the guitar duo featuring Mike Reinhardt and Kai Heumann in my hometown Wuppertal, Café Esperanza. Below: some examples of Gypsy Swing found via youtube …

All my life I’ve been influenced by the soul of Gipsy guitar musicians – though they all play much too fast for my fingers to follow. But I like to cover some of their standard tunes in a low down blues style. At first I started with classical guitar repertoire, for example the Praeludium D minor BWV 999 by Johann Sebastian Bach, listen to my version via http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/frizztext/skills/play150281

  1. wonderful self portrait. But the concert of incredible guitar music was a fabulous way to start my day today. I couldn’t decide which one I liked the best. Minor Swing, Has che’s swing, summer time, gypsy jazz, autumn leaves . . . I could listen to them all day. Thanks for posting an artistic, wonderfully musical post. I LOVED it!
