On the other hand there is a saying, that great differences are attractive to each other.

Sometimes when the differences are so great it means you have to REALLY listen to the other person, not just assume you know what they are saying. This happened when my husband and I first met. Speaking different languages and coming from different cultures meant we had to really listen and then understand each other; guessing would get us into trouble!
