Venice – no streets for automobiles

green liquid street

Maybe we all like Venice, because it seems, that we can escape there from modern times. No automobiles on the streets! Only the noise of the water-Taxis! Great expositions in the museums! Only rich and happy smiling tourists! Let’s forget those black people, trying to sell handbags. Let’s forget that strange president Silvio Berlusconi in Rome and his sex scandals. Actually they are talking about Karima El Mahroug. Or forget the Mafia in Naples or in Sicily. Venice is the most beautiful place in that country, if you will fall in LOVE with Italy …

Greenish water, high houses bordering a small canal, lonely boat and most of all: overwhelming light! 1-(hndrk) – The mood captured is very ambivalent, with rich colors and well lit first plane whereas the mist in the back brings another dimension, more introspective (2-jmvnoos) – It has a very surreal quality to it. I think the atmosphere of what looks to be clearing fog really works and then you’ve framed it in a very sensitive, non-touristy way (3-Daniel Colvin)

  1. Hmmm, much food for thought here… very much like life ain’t it? murky, happy, bothersome, brilliant. 🙂 Venice is quite special.

I would feel caged and die inside if I weren’t able to use my creativity. Writing is my way of expressing myself, and I can’t imagine not working with words…

  6. very interesting: the thousands of Italian women protesters against the macho Berlusconi – maybe against the whole Italian male-sexism? A cultural change of power and etiquette?
