you can see people relaxing, sitting at a well in the center of Munich: Marienplatz – but me, viewing from above, sitting in the silence of a church tower nearby, I felt a soothing distance to the hectic shopping area of tourists and local consumers …

I really like this photo, and especially since I will be back in Munich this summer after 38 years away. My old college friend called me from there today and the years just fell away.

Lovely picture and lovely place. I also love the way the people have been captured around the fountain. I also realised that you were first of the blocks again, how do you manage it? Could you please check out my entry for this challenge at; http://internationaleconomicmatters.wordpress.com/2013/05/03/weekly-photo-challenge-from-above/

just read in Patricia Mood’s blog:

“… It also brings order to events that seem chaotic at ground level. When I was a restless teenager, I took flying lessons with the Civil Air Patrol. I loved hovering above the waves of Long Island Sound, looking down at my diminutive city, miniature cars and roads. It reminded me that the world was much larger than my little suburban house and my family…”

Great photo for the challenge, ft. That fountain is obviously a popular resting place. 🙂

There’s nothing like viewing people coming together around a landmark. It looks like it’s still winter in the picture. No bright colors yet. Still the somber colors of winter on coats and jackets.
I like the scene on your header photo. Maybe I should compose one too!
