Yukon Bird Gang

Task 2013: I’ll try to post everyday a photo [that's a 365 day project], introducing Flickr photographers, who sent their artworks to my group BLOG IT! Below a cool composition by Keith Williams, cold weather survival strategies – maybe you like to take the shot as a metaphor (like me): our optimal strategy to survive 2013, if the upcoming year gets harder than 2012 …

title=”Happy New Year Everybody” – photo by kdee64 = Keith Williams, click on the picture to enter his Flickr galleries! Keith Williams comments: “…These Tree Swallows huddling together to conserve energy and body heat, were part of a large flock of migrating swallows caught in a freak snowstorm on the Yukon River…”

wow………is it real? i mean, no edit?
it’s real, it’s there strategy vs. the cold [close together like penguins in the Antarctic] – here another version:

I kind of like this one better because the color of the birds are more pronounced. Lovely shots.
Hope they made it through the storm – so cute!
Lovely picture
Wish the birds the best
great photo and i love your metaphor interpretation..

Wow! they’re both fantastic shots!
Sweet to see the two enjoying quality time together!
heart melting – together we stand, divided we fall
hi Laura!
For many brave soldiers some tips how to desert would have been a better advice. Why not emigrate to Quebec? A bad flashback to the soldiers of Napoleon entering Moscow too. Not to mention German soldiers in Stalingrad. Together we stand, divided we fall – in this bird case for sure a good idea, but for soldiers without using reflection: sometimes not; is my European opinion too much for an American soul?
Brilliant photo! I’ve never seen birds huddling together in a snow storm like this.
Those ckdee-dee are so adorable having a group hug in frigid weather.
It’s so beautiful shot!
I have added this photo to my “Favorite Photos from A-Z for January 2013″ post here: http://shutterbugsage.com/2013/01/31/my-favorite-photos-from-january-2013-from-a-to-z/. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work and continuing to inspire my amateur 365 blog!
