I love them all, but the photo of the horses takes me back to my childhood. I used to walk five houses down to the Watsons’ house, and we would play with Susie’s heard of Breyer horses for hours at a time.

My favorite is “First Steps.” I like the contrast of the background with the youngster struggling to write. The red background is attention getting, but the stripes move my eye to the focal point.

I read your comments and realized it was you! I am new to Flickr and see your account and it is mindblowing! I have started in WP, new to blogging, this summer and want to set up a pro account in Flickr, have a basic one with not much done on it. I know it will be a lot of work… but you inspire me, just not sure where to start. Looked at licensing and I am an amateur photographer with hardly any instruction, take photos by the seat of my pants, but it is my passion. Any suggestions? I see you have the copyright sign on all your photos, but what license do you use. I think your photos are all “public” and you have some amazing ones. Also I love your A-Z index, so much work… but awesome! I am a new fan… thanks.

I would say you have had a busy and wonderful year. Really vibrant moments captured – beautiful! Somehow I do prefer that slideshow version (did one of my own as well) – step by step like reading a book page by page. 🙂

path for composing a wordpress slideshow: edit – add media – insert media – upload files – select files – open – create a new gallery – insert gallery – type: slideshow – insert into post – more instructions via http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/#adding-a-gallery-or-slideshow

I loved the photos, especially December. I know it was busy, but it was also a typical day (wherever you took it).
I think I liked the slide show the best – I got to see a full size of each shot plus the comments. However, for my own blog I’ve been prefering the galleries as I think they’re easier to view later and to post on Facebook (the slideshows don’t put a photo into Facebook).

Really nice summary – I like the slideshow, but then it’s nice to see them again in a gallery…and I too love the horses, and you playing guitar in that fantastically colored setting.
