Advice needed

I thought, my inflexible finger of my left hand would bring my guitar playing to a final end. But now a doctor helped me and so I can play again – I’m so happy!
bjo-cat
above: featuring a true lover of music: the cat Zaya, photo by Catou, Brussels. Though I like to make photos (one finger only!) or give feedbacks with my two finger type system – the inner child deep in my heart longs to express via guitar arrangements (ten fingers needed). So I’m very glad, that I can continue to upload to the “soundcloud”! P.S.: And next week I can play in my favorite Folk club in Brussels again! It’s an “open mike” session, and every musician is allowed only to play 3 pieces. Which of the following nine below would you choose – time for some advice?

your votes (till now):

13 – for 1. Aranjuez (Rodrigo) Swing

6 – for 2. Black-orpheus
9 – for 3. Georgia-on-my

5 – for 4. And-I-love-her
5 – for 5. Blues-in-E
7 – for 6. Frizz-Rag

6 – for 7. KC-moans
9 – for 8. Blackbird-in-G
6 – for 9. Scarborough-fair

  1. Bumba says:

I’d play Black Orpheus, Georgia on My Mind, and Frizz’s Rag in that order

  2. How great that you’ll be on open mike! The playlist is on #2 now, and I’ll be back soon with my top three!
I’m so glad you’re strumming again!

      hi Lisa / Zeebra,
congrats to your new loudspeakers (though cheap earphones would be my choice) – and your new PC is working fast indeed – imagine, what a distance between Ecuador and Germany!

    • The sound is amazing! Yes, today’s technology is equally amazing! I like the KC moans, reminds me of riding a tired horse home through the fields at the end of a hot dusty summer day. Everyone would recognize and therefore embrace, “and i love her.” The first, Rodrigo Swing is refreshing as well.. Hard choices, though your fans will love anything you give them! Z

I’ve been playing your music while I edit my photos…. wonderful

Excellent news! I think whatever you choose will be awesome. I’m on the go, but will look forward to some great music later. :-)

  6. Laurie says:

I think that they all sound wonderful!!!

  7. I know it’s only two, but Georgia and Blackbird are my favorites. So hard to choose.

  8. Lucid Gypsy says:

It’s very hard to choose, but I pick one, eight and then seven!

  9. andydbrown says:

2 songs that you should include from that list are George on My Mind and Scarborough Fair. Awesome choices for open mic! I hope you can somehow get at least one (or all) videotaped and share with us all. Would love to see (or at least hear) you play!

    • andydbrown says:

This is embarassing but I didn’t realize till after reading and listening to your music on your “solitary photo challenge post” that I could in fact hear you play by clicking on the tunes! haha! Beautiful!

      • frizztext says:

hi Andy D Brown, because you asked for videotaped tracks: below a link to my youtube channel, featuring me and the blind clarinetist Rob and my friend Catou on Bazouka during last year’s session, same place as this year: Saint Andrew’s Church Folk Night, Chaussée de Vleurgat, Brussels – it’s not a glamour event – but that’s the reason because I like it so much: and the audience there has a quite familiar behaviour …

  10. Amy says:

How wonderful you can play guitar again, Frizz! It’s really hard to pick… All are so beautiful. Thank you so much!

  11. scrapydo says:

        hallo Aljaja,
        auf einem Berliner Kinderspielplatz hab’ ich auch schon ein paar mal Gitarre gespielt – und ein sehr freundliches und dankbares Publikum gehabt (Friedrichshain; angenehmer als in meiner Heimatstadt Wuppertal);
        P.S.:
        vielen Dank für’s Anhören meiner 9 Gitarren-Stückchen:
        Gruß: Frizz

        • aljaja says:

            • aljaja says:

I just wanted to say how happy I am to hear you are able to keep doing what you enjoy (and are so very good at)! Creativity and skill like yours needs the opportunity to thrive!

  22. YAY …. God does work in mysterious ways. He has bestowed upon you a new gift. It was your desire to play again that He heard and brought you healing.
I think it is wonderful that you will be able to play at an open mike. You should be heard by people. You have a true love for it when you are doing it. Good Luck ….!!!!

    My choices are:

    Aranjuez (Rodrigo) Swing
    Black-orpheus
    Georgia-on-my

    They are perfect.
    Blessings …
